The empire is striking back with new music. Eight years after the release of “Two Vines”, the Australian electronic music duo EMPIRE OF THE SUN finally dropped a new album “Ask That God”. As everyone bows down to Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore’s electrifying masterpieces, we’ve got "Changes", "Music on the Radio", "Cherry Blossom", and "The Feeling You Get" on repeat. A musical adventure where the lines between reality and imagination start to blur, it’s always been the case in every album that this duo whipped out. Now, they’re kicking off a massive ASK THAT GOD TOUR this 2025, heading to major cities and historical concert venues across North America.
Since the release of “Walking on a Dream” in 2008, these fellas have become living legends in EDM history. Introducing fabulist aesthetics and stories in the music world. The Guardian says “Their hook-drenched electro pop is unique enough to withstand the winds of fashion, while their Aztec-on-Mars visual aesthetic brings out the playfulness and joy of their tracks, becoming perfectionists in the art that they’ve created.
About their new album, Littlemore says “This body of work represents the greatest shift in consciousness our world has ever seen and that's reflected in the music.” Gaining more experience and figuring out what’s best for the empire, “We know these songs have wings, and once they are released, they will fly and find a home with all kinds of souls all over the planet.”
Music that heals, transforms, and makes your heart skip a beat — no one does it quite like EMPIRE OF THE SUN. With a pack of new singles proving that they still got the edge with their fable-like songs oozing with electro nostalgia, it’s the kind of comeback that longtime fans have definitely been waiting for. Recently releasing a new video for "The Feeling You Get", the track packs a punch with ‘80s-inspired sonic elements that’ll send you straight to the dance floor.
“Sometimes you don’t know what it is, you don’t know what you do or why you do it….it’s just the feeling you get,” Steele said about the song.
It’s all about what you feel, indeed. These electro wizards have been shaking things up with their unique vision, creating musical experiences that you don’t often come across with. “This song speaks to the listener, to remind them it’s never too late to get out there and really have some experiences and make some memories,” Littlemore added.
On tour, you can expect the energy to turn right up as this track, alongside their roster of hits, gets everyone up on their feet. Taking place at the RED ROCKS, it’s bound to be a wild party right under the stars. With larger-than-life productions coming right up, catch Steele and Littlemore rocking it hard with their extravagant costumes, blinding lights, and hard-hitting music.
