With their latest release “Pulsar” taking over the dance floor, French pop and nu-disco band L’IMPERATRICE is down and ready to tour the US. Moreover, the band is marking an incredible night at the RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATER on April 3rd. Fans are elated to hear that these fellas are set to share the funk and fun in Colorado, a wild party happening right under the stars. As their irresistible pop beats and alluring groove take center stage, everyone’s welcome to sing along & dance the night away.
Called a “powerhouse sextet” by This Song Is Sick, their single “Me Da Igual” pulled everyone in for a wild ride through their playful beats sung with their “French and Spanish lyrical stylings”. Whether you know French or simply vibe to the beat as an international fan, they sure got everyone resonating with the feels. Looking back at their second album “Tako Tsubo,” NME describes their second LP to embrace “a bold new stylistic choice, all while balancing the personal and the political for the first time.” Heading to bold & new territories, L’Imperatrice definitely know what they’re stirring up.
“I wanted to talk about feminism because it’s something that really is important to me, but I really didn’t know how to talk about it,” former vocalist Flore Benguigui told NME.
Their third LP “Pulsar” was released back in June, taking their disco and funk vibes to new heights. The album marks the band’s first self-produced effort, signed with the independent record label “microqlima”.
“It's kind of paradoxical, because it's the first album we made ourselves. But it's the first time we collaborated with that many people,” former vocalist Benguigui said via Grammy. Writing and singing in three languages, their irresistible vibes shine through it all.
“We wanted to bring back the raw energy of the live shows. To make it a bit rougher, uptempo, more representative of what we are doing live,” Gwon said.
Now, they’ve got a North American tour coming right up. Performing at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater, they’re prepping up for a huge party. It’s easily gonna be one of the best shows this spring.
With fans all over the world, the group stays true to their roots as French people. “At the first concert we did in New York, people were telling us, "Why are you singing your songs in English? The original ones are in French, and we like them better than the ones in English." So just be yourself,” Gwon told Grammy, asked about what it’s like to receive love from fans around the world.
So, make sure to bring the whole squad to this massive party by booking your tickets now!
