The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

For over twenty years now, The Avett Brothers has redefined the essence of rockin' folk music. Taking the scene by storm with their major label debut "I and Love and You" and their first #1 hit "Ain't No Man", these fellas have won everyone's hearts with their unique groove. After a successful run of live shows last year, The Avett Brothers are back for another round of epic jams on the road. One of their most anticipated gigs is their annual return to the Red Rocks. Three nights with different special guests for each show, folks looking to attend on Friday, July 11 are in luck, 'cause Chapel Hill-based folk duo - Watchhouse is opening the night.

The release came four years after the third installment to their Gleam series of EPS. Those tracks showcased stripped-back renditions of their favorite hits. NPR says that the record packs "a series of songs that remind you why people fell in love with this band in the first place." With a new album out and about, the band definitely climbs back to their roots, serving up their classic sound alongside their folk-pop groove that developed later in their career. Recorded with Rick Rubin in Malibu, Nashville, Mar Vista, and Concord, the boys call it a "collection of songs seen through a lens of independently studied spirituality; questions and considerations in the interest of the divine unknowable." Exploring hidden meanings in what seems to be a mundane life on the surface, they revel "in the fun and surrender of what we cannot understand," their release shares.
