Legends Duran Duran started their career in Birmingham, England, in 1978 and have been entertaining fans ever since with an incredible catalog of hits. They were catapulted into fame with the advent of the 24-hour music channel MTV.
The music video for "Girls on Film," from the band's 1981 self-titled debut album, was a major factor in the song's massive success. MTV aired a heavily edited version of it in a regular slot. Their second album, Rio (1982), was a huge hit around the world, debuting at No. 1 in Australia and No. 2 in Canada and the United Kingdom.
Australian director Russell Mulcahy spearheaded music videos for two of their biggest hits, "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Rio." The first ever Grammy for Best Music Video went to "Hungry Like the Wolf" in 1984. Their third album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, included the hit single "The Reflex," which charted highly in both the UK and the US. The band's 1985 hit single "A View to a Kill" was featured on the James Bond film's soundtrack.
With a new album in hand, you can expect to hear all of their new stuff as well as all of the fan favorites. This is not an event to be missed, so be sure to grab your tickets right here and now by pressing the "Get Tickets" button before it is too late.
