James Taylor & His All-Star Band at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

James Taylor is a true music legend. Since the release of his 1970 breakthrough record, ‘Fire And Rain’ which ranked as Number 3 in the top ten, he has built a career and reputation on his warm baritone voice, skilled guitar playing and articulate, emotional song writing. He claimed his first number 1 hit in 1971 with his recording of, ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ and has since become one of the best-selling music artists ever, won multiple Grammy Awards and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Now, for 2024 he is returning to the road with his All-Star Band for a series of concerts that, whatever the size of the venue, will be intimate and special. He and his band will take to the stage at the Red Rocks Amphitheater for two evenings, the first being on Sunday the 2nd of June, and give a set-list that will be music heaven. Taylor’s career is decades long but he has no ambitions of slowing down or letting the music fade. His most recent album, released in 2020 and titled, ‘American Standard’, was a triumph. It is a collection of famous songs of the 20th century and, where a lot of artists have floundered, Taylor succeeded in paying homage to the music but also making it his own with the stripped-down arrangements that focused on a 2-guitar collaboration between him and John Pizzarelli. ‘American Standard’ won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album’ and has become a favourite of fans.
