Red Rocks Amphitheatre
A mini country music fest is headed to the Red Rocks Amphitheater, and you’re not going to want to be on the outside looking in! Midland is headed back to the iconic venue in Morrison, Colorado on the same date that they appeared last year. This time around, it’s a Monday, October 14th, 2024, and you’ll have to head to the Red Rocks to see them live. Their performance in Morrison is part of the band’s Get Lucky tour, where they’ll be promoting their new album, Barely Blue. The album drops on September 20th, so you’ll have plenty of time to listen to the new tracks before the show.
The reason why this stop in Colorado is a mini country music fest is because Midland will be accompanied on stage by two opening acts. Jackson Dean is likely gonna be the first man up on this October night. He’s got a life story that you wouldn’t believe if it was in a movie. He auditioned for the voice at 14; then he went viral singing the national anthem at his own football game, all decked out in pads and a guitar. Now, he’s one of the rising stars in country music.
Don’t mix up The Wilder Blue, who are going to be the other opening act, and Midland. The Wilder Blue are five dudes, and Midland’s just a trio. They’re going to come out singing country music with some smooth blues and jazz beats. It’s a perfect way to get in the mood for the headlining act. By the time Midland takes the stage, you’ll be all warmed up, even though it promises to be a chilly night.

If this question ever comes up in a trivia contest, know, that the members of Midland actually do not hail from Midland, Texas. The band was formed in Dripping Springs, closer to San Antonio, about a 5-hour drive from the city they got their name from. Apart from this odd situation, the trio hit the ground running in the country music scene in the mid-2010s. Each member had already been around the block playing with numerous country groups by this time, but things didn’t seem to add up. In March 2016, though, the band released their single “Drinkin Problem,” and the stars aligned! You gotta know your customer, and Midland certainly proved that. “Drinkin Problem” is still the band’s flagship track to this day. It gives you a great idea of what you can expect to hear at the Red Rocks on October 14th.
There are essentially two routes that you can take on this night. Each of them is equally valid. It’s a country music showcase, so put on your cowboy boots and hat, add a comfy jacket, and someone on your arm, and you’re golden! The other route involves the same outfit choices and a group of friends who want to vibe with you through all the acts that are going to grace the stage on this night. Each of these is a valid option; when you’re in the theater singing to tunes of “Burn Out” there’s not gonna be a dry eye in the crowd when this takes place. It’s a Monday night; where else are you gonna have a better time than watching Midland at the Red Rocks? That’s a plan that’s hard to beat.
There are not a lot of tickets available at the Red Rocks Amphitheater for this mini country music fest. You better hurry up and pick the route that you’re gonna take on this night. Call that person or those people up! Get them to sign an agreement that no matter what happens, they’ll be with you watching Midland. It’s a risky proposition, to say the least, but it’s one that’s worth it. They don’t make country music like this no more, at least not with artists that head to Morrison on the regular. Click the get tickets button and get yourself a spot for this Monday night country fest.
