Deadheads, get ready for something special! Joe Russo’s Almost Dead is marching down once again at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Saturday, June 1st. In response to the overwhelming demand from supporters, two new shows have been announced for the tribute band’s tour, including a brief visit to Vail before their live engagement in Morrison.
Relive the glory days of the Grateful Dead with an authentic concert that mimics the look and sound of the best Palo Alto rockers of all time! The Grateful Dead was an American rock group that peaked during the mid-60s with a distinct style that blended genres of jazz, bluegrass, gospel, and country with psychedelia. Known for their partially improvised marathon performances, the band was inducted into the esteemed Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and later on earned the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Appearing for the second time at the Red Rocks stage, members Marco Benevento, Dave Dreiwitz, Tom Hamilton, Scott Metzger, and Joe Russo himself are all returning to cover their greatest hits, paying homage to one of the nation’s most successful psychedelic performers.
There really is no better experience than Joe Russo’s tribute act, and critics are raving about their recent public appearances! “While the first set was a stunning tribute to a legendary band, the second set took things to a whole new level. Unprecedented, incendiary and other-worldly, the remainder of the night saw songs we’ve heard time and time again performed in ways never-before-seen,” 303 Magazine shared.
