Electronic music wunderkind Hugo Pierre Leclerq a.k.a. Madeon, has taken over the EDM world by storm at a very young age. He released his first mash-up, “Pop Culture,” on Youtube and garnered millions of views. At 17 years old, he created the track by mixing 39 songs using an electronic music muli-button controller called Novation Launchpad. By 2012, Madeon has released his debut EP, The City. The record feature critically-acclaimed remixes and originals, such as “Finale” and “Icarus.” Upon its release, The City entered the charts in four countries, including peaking at number 20 on the Hot Dance Club Songs on Billboard.
In 2015, Madeon dropped his debut studio album, Adventure, via Columbia Records. The record features guest performances from renowned artists like Bastille, Mark Foster, Dan Smith, and Aquilo. Led by the single “Imperium,” the album immediately broke into the mainstream and dance chart in seven countries. In the U.S., Adventure peaked at number 43 on the Billboard 200 and dominated the Top Dance/Electronic Albums. In one of the tracks, “Home,” Madeon performed the vocals himself. He shared in an interview that the track is one of his most personal songs ever written, so it would be weird if someone else sang it. "I have this thing I do about once a year. I lock myself in the studio for 24 hours and make two or three new songs from start to finish. By the 18th hour, the combination of sleep deprivation, creative frustration, and isolation put me in this weird vulnerable state. I kind of felt like giving up on music at the time, to be honest, so I made a song about that. Because I was alone in the studio and had a microphone, I ended up recording it myself and finished producing it in the few hours remaining.”
After the stellar success of his debut album, Madeon released the follow-up album, Good Faith, in 2019. The album was led by the single “All My Friends,” which charted at number 16 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. Meanwhile, the album entered the Billboard 200 and topped the Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
Madeon collaborated with visual artists to promote his new album, Shinichiro Fujita, Mike Kluge, Mollie Tarlow, and OSEAN. This concept has been brewing since 2015, becoming one of EDM’s most amazing live shows. Madeon had always wanted to provide audiences with an audiovisual masterpiece. And this Sunday, 29th October 2023, fans can see it for the last time at the Red Rocks Amphitheater!
