Born in Easton, Maryland on April 25, 1994, Margaret Debay Rogers is best known by her stage name, Maggie Rogers. She is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and producer.

Pharrell's critique of her debut hit song, "Alaska," caused it to become viral. In the music video for the song, Rogers claims that "Alaska" is a synthesis of her love of dance music from more recently with her heritage in folk music. She characterizes her genre as emotional/movement.

Explaining her song Alaska, Rogers says, “We had to get up really early to cross this river because it had been really warm in Alaska that summer and so the glaciers were melting at a faster pace than we had expected. So you have to like wake up when the sun is at its lowest because then the river will be at its lowest also. So I was picturing being in this icy glacial runoff water in the morning and thinking about how difficult that was. And how strange that was and how hard that was, and yet, how important that was for me to find some of my own clarity within everything else that was happening in my life.”

“All I want to do is blend the energy and foundation of dance music with the folk imagery, harmony, and natural samples that I have been discovering while trekking over the past few years.” - Rogers on her passion for music

On February 15, 2017, she debuted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. On November 3, 2018, she debuted on Saturday Night Live. On July 12, 2019, she debuted on The Today Show.

She credits Björk, Carrie Brownstein, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon, and other well-known singers as her musical influences, and she views Brandi Carlile and Sharon Van Etten as her "musical big sisters" and teachers. She also disclosed to Williams during their first meeting that she suffers from synesthesia, a benign disorder that causes one or more senses to be perceived simultaneously. In her situation, the sound of music triggers the ability to see color.

Her upcoming album, Don’t Forget Me, will have the following songs:
01 It Was Coming All Along
02 Drunk
03 So Sick of Dreaming
04 The Kill
05 If Now Was Then
06 I Still Do
07 On & On & On
08 Never Going Home
09 All the Same
10 Don’t Forget Me
