Not only has country singer, songwriter and record producer Maren Morris challenged preconceptions of what country music can sound like, but she's also been changing the way things look for female country artists – her huge 2019 single “The Bones” made history for being the first multi-week chart-topper for a female country act in 12 years and now, this summer, she's hitting the road on a 28-date tour just three months after giving birth to her first child! The Grammy Award-winning artist comes to Red Rocks Amphitheater on Monday 7th September 2020 on the RSVP Tour, performing from her 2019 album Girl! She'll be joined in support by English singer-songwriter James Arthur!
After releasing her independent debut album Walk On at the tender age of 15, country singer, songwriter and record producer Maren Morris went on to release two more albums independently over the course of six years. In 2011, she relocated to Nashville and pursued a career as a professional songwriter, penning tracks for several established country acts, including "Last Turn Home" on Tim McGraw's 2014 album Sundown Heaven Town, and "Second Wind" on Kelly Clarkson's 2015 album Piece by Piece. Morris released a self-titled EP on Spotify in 2015 that proved to be hugely popular, racking up 2.5 million streams on Spotify in a month and bringing her to the attention of several major labels, including Columbia Nashville who signed her later that year. Her major label debut album, Hero, was released in 2016 and was preceded by the single "My Church," which had also appeared on the previous EP. "My Church" debuted at number one on the Country Digital Songs chart in 2016 and reached the top five on the US Hot Country Songs chart, also winning Morris a Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance. She was nominated for four Grammy Awards at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for Hero, including a nomination for Best Country Album, and the album hit the top spot on the on the Top Country Albums chart and peaked at number five on the Billboard 200. Morris released her second studio album, Girl, in 2019, debuting at number four on the Billboard 200.
