Once in a while, the world is blessed with artists who not only offer the world their incredible works but make it a better place through charity works that make an impact on the lives of many. When such artists are brought to mind, the rock band Of A Revolution or O.A.R. undoubtedly comes to mind. Over the years, the band has been active in giving back through their longstanding charity 'Hear The World Fund.' While being a dynamic force in the rock music scene since its inception in the late 90s, the band has been active in charitable activities supporting youth, education, and sustainable programs. And that is something you can expect when you come to one of their shows this summer; you are not only enjoying it, but you are also making a difference.
O.A.R. hailed from Rockville, Maryland, and has had success with songs like "Love and Memories," "Heard the World," and "Lay Down." Marc Roberge, who plays guitar and sings lead vocals, is the band's frontman alongside Chris Culos (drums), Richard On (guitar), Benj Gershman (bass), and Jerry DePizzo (guitar). Although they were formed in the late 90s, it was only in the mid 2000s that they made waves — thanks to digital download services like Napster, which let college students who were craving rock and reggae-twinged tunes discover new artists. Their breakthrough as a major act came with 2005's "Stories of a Stranger," their fifth studio album. This album proved that in addition to being one of the most exciting live acts of the 2000s, they were also a roots-and-reggae band that went beyond the typical jam band stereotypes.
O.A.R. has released nine studio albums, two live albums, and several EPs during the course of their career. Their most recent album, "Arcade," was released in 2022 and included ten tracks. Showcasing their signature rock-reggae sounds, the band undoubtedly appealed to both old and new fans. This was evident in the millions of streams the album garnered online.
This 2024, the band is embarking on another concert tour that will excite fans of all ages. Simply dubbed "Summer Tour 24," O.A.R. will be touring the country with indie pop darlings Fitz and the Tantrums and dance-funk outfit Ripe. They will kick off their 38-date tour in July at Raleigh, North Carolina's Red Hat Amphitheater. They will be stopping at major venues in the United States, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 18. Don't miss this highly-anticipated concert.
