Dubstep fans better rejoice this spring because eight-time Grammy-Award-winning DJ and producer Skrillex will conquer the Red Rocks Amphitheater! The highly-anticipated one-off show in Morrison, Colorado, will bring the critically-acclaimed performer back on stage with a larger-than-life production! On Saturday, 29th April 2023, Skrillex is set to deliver a five-hour rager! That’s right! Fans can look forward to a five-hour dubstep extravaganza courtesy of the electronica wunderkind himself! The show is the first of Skrillex’s few official appearances this 2023, as well as his phenomenal return to the Red Rocks after nine years! The multi-award-winning performer will be belting out monumental hits, fan favorites, as new tracks from his latest efforts, Quest for Fire and Don’t Get Too Close! If you’re keen on joining this legendary rage at the Red Rocks, you better secure your tickets now before they sell out!
Earlier in the year, Skrillex released two albums in less than a week. Quest For Fire was dropped on February 17, while Don’t Get Too Close was released on February 18. Although it's rather unusual for a major artist to release two full studio albums in a year, let alone a week, it is a good reminder that Skrillex is not like other major artists. Instead of holding a massive tour to promote his fresh efforts this 2023, Skrillex made pop-up appearances and surprise performances, including a pop-up set at Times Square and a last-minute show at Madison Square Garden.
His official appearances this 2023 are also scarce but worth the trip. For instance, he is scheduled to make his monumental return to the Red Rocks Amphitheater this April. The last time he lit up the venue was in 2014. Back then, he was promoting his debut album Recess, which spawned several hit singles, “Try It Out,” “Recess,” “Ragga Bomb,” and “Dirty Vibe.” The album made an immediate breakthrough on the Billboard 200 and debuted at number 4. Meanwhile, the record also topped Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums and U.K.’s Dance Albums charts. Skrillex’s exemplary work clearly has gone viral worldwide as the album also entered the charts in 14 other countries, including Canada, Australia, and Japan.
The debut album’s success was preceded by a series of big wins at the Grammy Awards from 2012 to 2013. Skrillex’s work with his fourth EP, Bangarang, secured him two Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording (for “Bangarang”) and Best Dance/Electronica Album. His collaborations and remixes have also secured him several more Grammys, including two Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
Three years later, Skrillex once again won big at the Grammys. His collaboration with Diplo earned him two awards – one for Best Dance Recording for “Where Are Ü Now” performed with Justin Bieber and another for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü.
This 2023, Skrillex, whose real name is Sonny Moore, is set to promote music from his brand new albums, Quest For Fire and Don’t Get Too Close. The album’s release was preceded by the singles “Xena,” performed with Nai Barghouti, and the title track “Don’t Get Too Close,” performed with Bibi Bourelly.
With his plethora of singles from his critically acclaimed studio albums, EPs, and collaborations, Skrillex’s set is guaranteed to be plentiful this April 29 at the Red Rocks! So pack your red bulls, and bring your friends because this five-hour show is bound to be epic!
