Red Rocks is super excited to welcome Stick Figure, Stephen Marley, and The Hip Abduction on their co-headlining Island Holiday Summer Tour.
Every song by Stick Figure feels like a summer holiday. The American reggae and dub group was formed in 2005 on the east coast of the country, and consist of Scott Woodruff, KBong, Kevin Offitzer, Tommy Suliman, Johnny Cosmic and Willy Phillips actually used to be a lot smaller - it was started as a one man band by Scott when he was only 9 years old. He produces and creates all of the band’s instrumentals and melodies, and has an eclectic and fresh approach to his layering and blending of rock, reggae, and dub. Woodruff began to pick up steady traction with his releases, and by his third album, Stick Figure was charting on the Billboard Reggae Charts. By the 2012 release of Burial Ground, the world had caught on to Stick Figure’s excellence - calling the album Original, base heavy, and consistent throughout the album. Now - ahead of a new album and with a tour on the way, the world is excited for what Stick Figure and Scott will pull out next.
Stephen Marley, the son of legendary reggae and One Love artist Bob Marley, is a Grammy winning soul artist born in America. He has won accolades both as a solo artist and a producer. He started singing with his siblings at the age of 7 and mentored directly by his father, winning accolades and attention at a young age. He played at the One Love Peace concert before he was 10, and consistently sang for charitable causes throughout most of his childhood. Stephen modernized reggae music, and he’s worked with major names to prove it - such as Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, and The Roots to name a few. He has toured dozens of times and has sold tens of thousands of tickets around the world - and we expect his show at Red Rocks to be one of his most iconic yet.
The Hip Abduction, formed by David New and Chris Powers, started with humble beginnings. What was once busking on the beaches of St.Petersburg has turned into a national phenomena, bringing reggae soul to the airwaves since 2010. Their albums have consistently charted and stayed on the top of hits list on both Itunes and Spotify, and their mix of west African sounds with new age reggae has entranced audiences across the world. The group hasn’t been to Red Rocks in over five years, and they’re more ready than ever to get back under the Morrison sky dome and deliver us a legendary set.
So - are you excited and ready to jam?! We were hoping so! Get your tickets today, and we’ll see you in The Rocks this Summer!
