It’s been 29 years since the untimely and tragic death of Sublime’s original frontman, Bradley Nowell. And now, Sublime is finally back, striking harder than ever before with Bradley Nowell’s son, Jakob Nowell, heading up the band. It’s the same feel, the same energy, the same vibe, the same big radio hits that got fans around the globe into an absolute tizz, and they are ready to cement Jakob Nowell’s place in music history! Sublime is bound to bring the homies together once more with sun-soaked music stuffed to the brim with high vibrations!
Sublime rose from California’s mid-1990s skate and surf scenes with a string of radio bangers, such as ‘What I Got’, ‘Doin’ Time’, ‘April 29, 1992 (Miami)’, ‘Wrong Way’, and ‘Santeria’, fusing ska, punk, and reggae into what would become their signature sound. Their commercial eponymous breakthrough album dropped in 1996, two months after Bradley Nowell’s death, and peaked on charts everywhere. The original Sublime line-up has sold over 17 million albums worldwide.
In an attempt to reform Sublime, original band members, Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, performed as ‘Sublime with Rome’ for some years, but since teamed up with Jakob Nowell as frontman, reviving the original Sublime, and knocking every single expectation out of the ballpark! It’s all the bass-driven grooves and tongue-in-cheek-lyrics you love, from the laid-back reggae vibes of ‘Doin’ Time’ to the free and easy ‘Smoke Two Joints’, from the soulful rendition of B.B. King’s ‘What Happened’ to the ska-rootsy ‘ Skankin’ to the Beat’, with singalong opportunities galore and some brand new music to top it all!
What could possibly be better than the world’s favorite ska-punk band live on stage, surrounded by towering red stone cliffs and breathtaking views, top class sound and lighting, and 9,525 fans belting out all the hit songs around you? The answer: you are there to experience it all! With the incredible Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s bleacher-style seating, you’ll for certain be right in the sweet spot, no matter where you choose to sit!
So, go see Sublime, you’ll have the time of your life!
