Hot off the heels of the group’s emergence from a hiatus in Atlantic City, NJ, Widespread Panic has got fans on the edge of their seats again! They have recently announced the 2025 return of its long-standing June weekend at Morrison, Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre from June 27th - 29th.
Last June, Widespread Panic performed at the famed Denver-area natural amphitheater and it was epic!! But in July, before they could perform another show, the group issued an announcement that sent shockwaves through its loyal fanbase: “The Widespread Panic Family is sad to report that our Brother, Jimmy Herring, has been diagnosed with stage 1 tonsil cancer,” the Athens, GA rockers wrote. “He will begin treatment immediately and is expected to make a full recovery. That part we’re happy to report.”
In just a matter of days, the group had cleared its schedule of all upcoming dates. Months passed as concerned Widespread Panic fans waited for an update. The year wrapped up without the group’s traditional Halloween, New Year’s, and Panic en la Playa announcements, though they helped hold fans over with the August issue of Hailbound Queen. This was their second new studio release in 9 years, after June’s Snake Oil King.
Before 2024 came to a close, Widespread Panic had plotted its first shows since Jimmy Herring’s diagnosis in Atlantic City. A slew of announcements soon followed, with highly anticipated 2025 runs scheduled in St. Augustine, Charleston, Nashville, and Chicago. For a group and fanbase tragically familiar with the cancer’s unforgiving nature, each run of dates came with a joint sigh of relief. Jimmy Herring was okay. After an epic weekend in Atlantic City this year, it seems safe to say the Widespread Panic is back and bigger than ever.
Whether you’re a diehard fan eager to see your favorite band on stage or just after an unforgettable night of great music, this is the show for you! As Widespread Panic has been off the circuit for a while, we know this event is gonna sell out extremely quickly. To confirm your spot at this must-see concert, we highly recommend booking your tickets now!
