Red Rocks Amphitheatre Venue Information

The venue’s address is Red Rocks Park, 17598 W. Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO 80465. It’s located just a short drive from Denver, with smaller towns in its vicinity.

The layout of the venue is pretty simple. A stage sits at the bottom of the hill, between two huge red rocks (hence the name). Towering above it are 70 rows of bleachers. The two massive sandstone monoliths, Ship Rock and Creation Rock, naturally amplify the sound. For you as a spectator, this creates an otherworldly experience, with lights reflecting off the rocks and sounds arriving crisp and clear. Even in the back row, there’s no bad seat.

The venue is over 6,000 feet above sea level and there can be quite a walk from your car. At Red Rocks, it’s always best to arrive well in advance if you can. It’ll help you avoid traffic and you can take your time getting to your spot. Plus, with all the natural beauty and tons of tailgating fun, you’ll have plenty to do.

There are a couple of on-site restaurants. You’ll also find outlets with fast food and drinks. If you’d prefer something more substantial – or if you’re staying in the area – try the nearby towns of Golden and Morrison. Otherwise, Denver is only a short drive away.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre Seating Chart

Red Rocks has 70 rows stacked one above the other. As open-air seating, with each positioned higher than the one before, this means zero obstructed views. The rock area also delivers pure sound to every seat. That means your choice comes down to proximity preferences, budget, and whether you prefer reserved or unreserved tickets.

Reserved Seating

At Red Rocks, tickets are often reserved in the closest sections to the stage. Most concerts sell reserved seating up until around row 30. However, that changes by show. The most popular concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre may feature entirely reserved seating all the way up into the higher rows. If you buy a reserved ticket, you’ll have a dedicated row and seat number which will be your spot throughout the show.

The price of reserved seating reflects these benefits. You’d expect to pay from $100 and more (much more for huge stars), especially in the first 15 rows. However, the views, sounds, and guaranteed seats are generally worth it.

Unreserved Seating

Looking for a more relaxed arrangement? Then unreserved seating is a fantastic option. Often, you’ll find that rows from 40-70 are designated as unreserved – every seat is available on a first-come, first-served basis. That can be a good thing if you’re in a large group or simply don’t mind where you sit. If you’ll be arriving late or would prefer to avoid uncertainty, you might like to reserve a spot in a lower section.

With unreserved seating, you can often grab a bargain. Plus, besides not having a dedicated seat, there aren’t too many downsides to the higher rows at Red Rocks. The sightlines and audio quality are still excellent, while you have a phenomenal view over the Colorado country. Sunset especially is magical from up high.

VIP Seating

Treating yourself? VIP seating at Red Rocks works a little differently from other venues. There are no dedicated boxes – simply the best seats in the closest rows to the stage. You may also get access to exclusive lounges and bars, with VIP parking for quicker entry and exit. Prices vary based on the event, usually costing from $200 and up.

Accessible Seating

Thanks to its uniform rows, Red Rocks provides plenty of accessible facilities. You can purchase dedicated accessible seating in Rows 1 and 70. There are also limited mobility spots, including folding seats, in Rows 2 and 3. A shuttle runs from the parking lots to accessible seating areas.
